So, Sunday mornings are pancake and bacon day, but Bobby had other ideas for us today. Instead of waking up, doing my morning feed run and coming in to make pancakes and bacon for my family, I got up and realised Bobby was having a colic episode.
Bobby is a 27 year old Thoroughbred gelding, he raced as a young horse under the name Late Whisper. He was an amazing school master in his later years, I taught many young people to do dressage and jumping on him. He was worth his weight in gold. The only problem is that he chronically injured himself and habitually colicked which is very stressful for him and for us.
We made the decision earlier this year that we would put Bobby to sleep before the winter, unfortunately the old boy had other ideas because today was the day. Pancake day, dude. Pancake day.
So here we go, tribute to Bobby, the most beautiful big dope on the planet.
